Jane Zamost (b.1958, United States)
I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between art and healing. As a painter and mixed-media artist, I believe in the power of creativity to uplift, inspire, and bring people together.
My journey at Capital Health started as a selected Member of the Healing Arts Committee, which then led me to spearhead the Healing Hands Mobile Art Cart at both the Hopewell and Trenton arms of this two-hospital system. This experience was transformative — it deepened my understanding of how art can support healing and ultimately led me to step into the role of Healing Arts Program Coordinator at Capital Health.
Seeing firsthand how the creative process touches the human spirit, including my own, I now lead workshops for patient groups, nonprofits, corporations, and community organizations, encouraging people to express themselves through art and discover its therapeutic benefits. I relish witnessing the freedom and healing that art can bring.
Before diving into the healing arts world, I co-founded LUX Gallery, a space dedicated to showcasing contemporary art. Earlier in my career, I was the Senior Vice President at Projects In Knowledge, a medical communications company and prior to that, an account executive at Burson-Marsteller, a public relations agency in New York City. I graduated Rutgers University, where I attended Rutgers College and Mason Gross School of the Arts, and studied in London for a time honing my art skills at the Sir John Cass School of Art and the London Polytechnic.
My artwork has been featured in seven solo exhibitions and in over 70 U.S. and Canadian group shows. You may have even spotted my artwork on TV’s House Hunters. My work hangs in numerous private, hospital, and corporate collections as well as the Copelouzos Family Art Museum in Athens, Greece. You can explore more of my art online at ArtSpan Contemporary Art and www.JaneZamost.com.
Thank you for your interest in my art. I hope our creative paths cross in the near future. Wishing you the most beautiful day --
